CHIMNEY SWEEPING

I use both the manual sweeping system and the rotary power system in conjunction with a powerful specialist hoover.  I take great care in ensuring that the contents of the fire and chimney are contained during the sweeping process. 

 

EXTERIOR CHIMNEY 

Upon arrival I will look at your chimney, checking for and obvious damage or tell tale signs of birds nesting, bees etc or creosote accumulation in the mesh of the cowl which could be extremely hazardous.

 

INTERNAL CCTV CHIMNEY INSPECTION 

If your fire or appliance is not working as it should, having first swept the flue, I can then inspect the inside of the chimney using a CCTV camera. Although I can not guarantee the integrity of any chimney, we will be able to see if there is any obvious damage or obstruction inside the flue.

 

APPLIANCE INSPECTION AND CLEAN

I will inspect the appliance and report any damage or issues with the appliance prior to sweeping. On completion of the sweep, I will give the appliance a thorough clean, leaving looking "tickety boo".

 

MAINTENANCE AND REPAIRS

I will carry out any repairs that are necessary and report any parts that need replacing for the safe and efficient use of the appliance.

 

REPLACEMENT PARTS

I will procure and fit any replacement parts as required.

 

CARBON MONOXIDE DETECTORS

I will check that you have a Carbon Monoxide Detector. This will be tested to ensure that it is in good working order. If there is no detector or it is found to be faulty or not working then I do carry a supply of detectors with me which can be purchased at a very competitive price.

 

SWEEP CERTIFICATE

I will provide a sweep certificate upon completion of my work, often a requirement of property insurance.

 

WRITTEN REPORT

If there are any safety concerns, these will be included as part of the certificate of insurance.
